How to protect video files?

1. Add the videos to be protected to the file encryption list.
2. Specify the encryption key. The files are encrypted using the encryption key, Only the person knows the encryption key can create Playback Passwords.
3. Click "Encrypt".

How to create a Playback Password for a user?

1. Specify the encryption key you used to encrypt the files.
2. Enter the Video GUID of the user that you want to authorize.
3. Click "Create Password".

What is the encryption key?

The encryption key is the private key of the encryption algorithm. When encrypt video files, you can specify an encryption key for each video file, Android Video Protector use the encryption key to encrypt the video file. The encrypted file can only be playback with a Playback Password, which can be created using the "Create Password" fucntion in the software; Only the person knows the encryptio key can create Playback Password, and each Playback Password is computed using the Video GUID and the encryption key. The Playback Password is unique for each android device.

What is the Video id?

The Video ID is a number. When encrypt video files, you can specify a Video ID for each video file, By default, the software automatically generate the Video ID. For example You can set the same Video ID for a series of video files. Thus, a playback password will be able to playback a series of video files on the same android device.

What is the Video GUID?

We generate a unique Device ID for each android device. the Video ID and the Device ID that make up the Video GUID. Because the Device ID is unique, the Video GUID is different between different device.

How do I know the Video GUID of the encrypted video?

Video GUID is different between different device. To get the Video GUID, you must run PPVM Video Player, click the video you want to playback, then you can see the Video GUID at next activity.

What is the Playback Password?

When playback the encryption video, it requires a playback password to decrypt the video. The playback password contains the video infomation and decrypt key, it is generated base on the encryption key and the Video GUID. Because the Video GUID is different on different device, the Playback password is only valid on one device. you can use the Create Password function of Android Video Protector to generate the playback password.

What is the "Device Binding, One Device, One Password"?

It means that using this encryption mode to encrypt video, the encryption video is bind to an android device. The video on each android device has a different Video GUID. To playback this video, you must use Video GUID and encryption key to generate the playback password, the playback password is only valid on one android device.

What is the "Non Device Binding, All Device, One Device ID, One Password"?

It means that using this encryption mode to encrypt video, the encryption video isn't bind to an android device. The video on all android devices has the same Video GUID. To playback this video, you must use Video GUID and encryption key to generate the playback password. So it can playback this video on all android device with the same playback password.

What is the "Non Device Binding, All Device, One Password"?

It means that using this encryption mode to encrypt video, the encryption video isn't bind to an android device. The playback password is the encryption key you specified when you encrypt this video.

What is the "Encrypt video only"?

It means that using this encryption mode to encrypt video, the video is encrypted. You can use PPVM Video Player to playback it directly, it needn't playback password.
